Voxel Survival Commands & Controls

Complete reference for all available commands, keyboard shortcuts, and game controls in Voxel Survival v0.0.8.

🎮 Command System

T
Open/Close Command Box

Opens the command console where you can type commands. Mouse is released and game input is blocked for UI interaction.

/
Open Command Box (with prefix)

Opens the command console with a '/' prefix already typed for quick command entry. Shows autocomplete suggestions as you type.

As you type commands, matching suggestions appear below the input field. Click any suggestion to auto-complete the command.

Tab
Cycle Through Suggestions

Press Tab to cycle through available command suggestions. Each press selects the next matching command.

Examples
Smart Matching

Type "fly" to see "fly", "fly speed", and "toggle fly". Type "game" to see "gamemode survival" and "gamemode creative".

Show Help

Displays all available commands and controls in the console.

fly speed <number>
Set Flying Speed

Sets the flying speed in creative mode. Range: 1-50. Example: fly speed 15

fly
Toggle Flying Mode

Toggles between walking and flying in creative mode. Also works with toggle fly

gamemode survival
Switch to Survival Mode

Switches the game to survival mode with hunger, thirst, stamina, and limited resources.

gamemode creative
Switch to Creative Mode

Switches the game to creative mode with unlimited resources, flying, and no survival mechanics.

time
Set Time of Day

Usage: /time 0.0 (dawn) to /time 1.0 (next dawn). /time 0.5 = dusk. Controls sun and moon position.

weather clear
Set Clear Weather

Changes weather to clear/sunny conditions. Temperature will be warmer.

weather rainy
Set Rainy Weather

Changes weather to rainy conditions with rain particles. Temperature will be cooler.

weather stormy
Set Stormy Weather

Changes weather to stormy conditions with heavy rain. Temperature will be coldest.

test tree
Spawn Test Tree

Spawns a test oak tree 3 blocks in front of the player for testing tree chopping mechanics.

test weather
Test Weather System

Cycles through all weather types (Clear, Rainy, Stormy) for testing the weather system and HUD display.

spawn
Teleport to Spawn

Teleports the player back to the spawn location for the current world type. Useful for getting back to a safe starting area.

test underwater
Test Underwater Generation

Creates a small test area to test underwater block generation and water physics.

advance year
Advance Time by One Year

Advances the game time by one full year (365 days) to test seasonal changes and long-term systems.

🎯 Game Controls

WASD
Movement

Move forward, left, backward, right. Works in both survival and creative modes.

Space
Jump / Fly Up

In survival mode: Jump (costs stamina). In creative flying mode: Fly upward.

Shift
Fly Down

In creative flying mode: Fly downward. In survival mode: Sneak/crouch.

F
Toggle Flying / Offhand Management

In creative mode: Toggle flying mode on/off. In survival mode: Move selected hotbar item to/from offhand slot.

Mouse
Look Around

Move mouse to look around. Mouse is captured during gameplay, released when UI is open.

Left Click
Break Blocks

Break blocks you're looking at. Works with any tool or bare hands.

Right Click
Place Blocks / Use Items

Place blocks from your hotbar, consume food/water, or use tools. In creative mode: unlimited placement.

Middle Click
Offhand Management

Move selected hotbar item to/from offhand slot (survival mode only). Alternative to F key for offhand management.

E
Interact

Interact with blocks like workbenches, consume water from water blocks, or pick up items.

1-9
Hotbar Selection

Select items from your hotbar (slots 1-9). The selected item is highlighted and used for placement.

Crafting

Open/close the crafting interface. Access recipes and craft items.

Block Picker

Open the creative block picker (creative mode only). Choose from all available blocks.

Debug Info

Toggle debug overlay showing FPS, coordinates, block info, world type, and other technical details.

M
Map System

Open the world map showing explored areas, terrain types, and your current location. Tracks your exploration progress.

Cycle Command Suggestions

When the command box is open, press Tab to cycle through available command suggestions.

ESC
Menu / Close UI

Open the main menu, close the command box, or close any open UI windows.

Clear Weather
Sunny Conditions

Bright, clear skies with warm temperatures. Perfect for outdoor activities and building.

Rainy Weather
Rain with Particles

Rain particles fall from the sky with realistic 3D effects. Temperature drops and visibility is reduced.

Stormy Weather
Heavy Storms

Intense rain with the coldest temperatures. Creates dramatic weather conditions for survival challenges.

Snow (Winter)
Winter Snowfall

Snow particles fall during winter months, especially at high altitudes (190+ blocks). Creates beautiful winter landscapes.

Cloud System
Dynamic Clouds

Procedural clouds that change over time. More clouds in winter/spring, clearer skies in summer. Affects temperature.

Seasonal Changes
365-Day Year Cycle

Four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. Each affects temperature, weather patterns, grass spread speed, and fruit tree appearance.

Temperature System
Realistic Temperature

Temperature varies by season, time of day, weather, cloud cover, and altitude. Higher altitudes are colder, affecting snow generation.

🌅 Day/Night Cycle

The game features a Minecraft-style day/night cycle with realistic sun and moon movement:

🌅 Day (0.0-0.5)
Sun Movement

Sun rises in the east, moves across the sky, and sets in the west. Provides bright daylight and warm lighting.

🌙 Night (0.5-1.0)
Moon Movement

Moon rises in the east, moves across the sky, and sets in the west. Provides dim moonlight and cool lighting.

🌆 Twilight (0.45-0.55)
Transition Period

Smooth transition between day and night with both sun and moon visible during sunset/sunrise.

🌍 World Types & Launcher

Balanced
Balanced World

Default world type with a good mix of plains, hills, mountains, and water bodies. Spawns in a safe plains area.

Sea World
Ocean-Focused World

World dominated by oceans with scattered islands. Perfect for naval exploration and island-based survival.

Hilly World
Mountainous World

World with extensive hills and mountains. Great for mountain climbing and high-altitude building.

Flat World
Superflat World

Completely flat world with minimal terrain variation. Ideal for building large structures and creative projects.

Mountain World
Extreme Mountain World

World with massive mountain ranges and extreme elevation changes. Challenging terrain for experienced players.

Archipelago
Island Chain World

World consisting of many small to medium islands connected by water. Perfect for island-hopping adventures.

✨ Creative Mode Features

Unlimited Blocks
Infinite Resources

Place any block without consuming items from your inventory. All blocks are available through the block picker.

Flying
Flight Mode

Toggle between walking and flying. When flying: Space = up, Shift = down, no input = hover.

No Survival
No Hunger/Thirst

Hunger, thirst, and stamina don't decrease in creative mode. Focus on building and exploring.

Organized Block Picker

Blocks are organized into categories: Basic Blocks, Wood & Trees, Snow & Water, Workstations, Ores & Metals.

Hunger System
Food Management

Hunger decreases over time. Eat food to restore hunger. Can't eat when at 100% hunger.

Thirst System
Water Management

Thirst decreases over time. Drink water or consume water buckets to restore thirst. Can't drink when at 100% thirst.

Stamina System
Energy Management

Stamina decreases when jumping and regenerates when walking or standing still. Can't jump when stamina is empty.

Resource Limits
Limited Resources

Blocks are consumed when placed. You must gather materials through mining, chopping trees, and crafting.

📊 HUD & Information Display

Stats Panel
Health, Hunger, Thirst, Stamina

Bottom-left panel showing your vital stats with color-coded bars. Health (red), Hunger (yellow), Thirst (blue), Stamina (green).

Compass
Direction & Coordinates

Shows cardinal directions (N, E, S, W) and your current coordinates. Updates in real-time as you move.

World Information
Time, Weather, Location

Top-left panel displays current time, day of year, season, weather conditions, temperature, and your current zone/region.

Hotbar
Item Selection

Bottom-center hotbar showing your selected items (1-9). Selected item is highlighted and used for placement/consumption.

Item Notifications
Action Feedback

Top-right notifications for item pickups, consumption, drops, and other actions. Provides clear feedback on your interactions.

Creative Mode Indicator
Mode Display

Shows current game mode (Survival/Creative), flying status, and fly speed when in creative mode.

💡 Tips & Tricks

Water Physics
Advanced Water Interaction

Use buckets to collect and place water. Water blocks are removed when collected. Jump near shorelines to exit water easily.

Tree Chopping
Smart Tree Harvesting

Chopping a tree breaks all logs above it and decays leaves, dropping fruits. Distinguishes between natural trees and placed logs.

Grass Spreading
Natural Grass Growth

Grass spreads to adjacent dirt blocks if there's nothing above them. Creates natural-looking grass areas over time.

F3 Debug
Technical Information

Press F3 to see the block you're looking at, your coordinates, FPS, world type, and other technical details useful for building and debugging.

Zone System
Regional Names

Each area has a unique zone name based on its region type (Plains, Hills, Mountains, etc.). Names are persistent and shared between players.

Tree Regeneration
Automatic Reforestation

When you chop down a tree, a sapling is automatically planted in its place. Saplings will grow into new trees over time.

Seasonal Fruit Trees
Fruit Availability

Fruit trees show or hide fruits depending on the season. Breaking fruiting leaves always drops fruit, regardless of season.

Altitude-Based Temperature
Mountain Climbing

Temperature decreases as you climb higher. Snow only generates at 190+ blocks altitude when temperatures are cold enough.

World Type Selection
Choose Your Adventure

Select from 6 different world types in the launcher: Balanced, Sea World, Hilly World, Flat World, Mountain World, or Archipelago.
